The Obstacle is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumphs by Ryan Holiday – Ever have one of those years where you were responsible for everything, no one was happy about it and then you get tossed down and spit upon? While you are laying on the couch recovering with wine, read this.
The Practicing Mind: Developing Focus and Discipline in Your Life by Thomas M Sterner– This short book is full of wisdom about mental discipline and right action. It is a very motivating and easy to read book that borrows heavily from Eastern philosophies, particularly in its view that mastering skills is best accomplished when we become process-oriented rather than results or achievement-oriented.

Antagonists in the Church by Kenneth Haugk – Not the be all end all, but can be helpful in identifying those individuals who are counter-productive to real growth in a local body and the chapter on them being the devil is just too good to miss.
