All Novices and Clergy under my supervision are expected to engage in a study of the Mass and its related rituals and symbolism. The following gives a general outline of the program for the various aspects of studying to be ordained. It is an outline of suggested practices only.
TO GAIN TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY in celebrating the mass in one of the three major roles (Deacon, Priestess or Priest), you should first put together a team of people willing to rehearse the mass with you. This can be in any form you wish, but you should have some experienced member of the clergy available to help you stay on track.
Once you feel that you are ready to do a study celebration, please contact me and we can schedule my observation of you.
For those of you at a distance from me: if you are not in close enough proximity for us to schedule this without undue strain, please discuss other options with me. We'll make it happen!
The study celebration of the mass is required prior to you doing mass publicly and will consist of my viewing of your celebration in full of the mass with you serving in your preferred role. This mass should be a private celebration (initiates only) and for the purposes of study.
A basic knowledge of the symbolism of the mass as well as the history and liturgy of the church and sacerdotal theory and practice will be encouraged.
I highly suggest reading — Mystery of Mystery (Red Flame No. 2)
A basic knowledge of E.G.C. Policy will be required - Familiarize yourself with the E.G.C. Manual
Further reading — Please indulge yourself in some further reading from this list.
An ongoing study of organizational leadership is necessary.
Please check out this list and choose some books that seem interesting to you and further your knowledge of leadership in general.
Volunteer for a position in your local body and do your best to learn from those around you.
Use online resources such as youtube, TED Talks and others to learn more about working with people, being a good leader and volunteering.
All initiates working with me should have an ongoing practice of magick and the study thereof. Some suggestions:
Engage in a study of both Liber E and Liber O, report regularly on your findings
Actively participate in initiation rituals both as an attendee and an officer
Maintain an active study of your Man of Earth initiation study guides
Engage in a general study of magick
Make a practice of studying the holy books
